I do a lot of driving on the twisty mountain roads and after 30k the Cobra's suspension feels vague and somewhat out of touch with the road. I am hard on suspensions and every car I have owned begins to "loosen up" after about 25K. The Cobra's suspension is less than confidence inspiring, especially if there are swells and dips in the turns. Frankly, it is a bit frightening.

When it was new the Cobra felt a bit more "tight" and now I would like to start improving it's corning performance and roadfeel.

What is the best bang for buck? For about $1500 what can be done to address numb suspension? I don't expect this car to handle like a M3 but surely I can expect better response.

I was thinking of CC plates and coilovers.

Not sure if the shocks are worn. Normally, I would think so because OEM shocks are typically only good for a few thousand miles. But these are Bilsteins, right? They got to go more that 30K I would think (hope).

good choice. I have heard that griggs coilovers are better than MM and that MM's cc plates are best. Get the KB strut tower brace while your at it, and some MM full length subframes. Then watch M3's in your rearview mirror fading away in the twisties.

Go with the MM coil overs and C/C plates. I got the complete set up for $1,061.00 with three day shipping. The car car handles great and road feel is far above the stock set up. I have had mine on for overs 8,000 miles now with no complaints.

That is not true the MM coil-overs are just as good if not better then the Griggs. I know of several very experienced people who have removed Griggs to put on MM. Griggs use to be the best, but that is no longer the general consensus.
