Hey guys. I went to the track today for the first time since the Paxton blower install.
I have a 2012 GT with a 6 speed manual making 589rwhp
Gears are factory 3.73's. I'm running out of gear and having to shift into 5th at the track. I'm running a 28x11.5 ET strewt an stock intake.
What are you'r suggestions for a setup to eliminate having to go into 5th and at the same time not slowing the car down?
Thanks

What did you run and what was your MPH?

3.31s would allow you to stay in 4th.
7200rpm in 4th with stock height tires and 3.31s would be 136mph.

I figure you're in the 125-131 range, putting you through the traps at 6600-7000rpm in 4th with those gears.

Stick with the 28" tire, 3.31s or even 3.15s wouldn't be too bad. Would help a lot with street driving also. If you are serious about getting gears you might consider swapping out the diff with something a little sturdier and getting your axle tubes welded. You're playing with a good amount of power and it sucks to have to do things twice! Just depends on how much the wallet will allow. Let us know what you choose.

I can't remember my MPH for sure but I believe 122. I'll have to check the timeship which isn't on me.
I know the 60 foot was 1.72

I'm wondering if a boss intake which will allow Nero rev higher and 3.55 gears will do it or if I should just go right down to a 3.31 to be sure?

Yeah I'm having the same problem even going to 3.55's from 3.73's. So I'm either going to go with 3.31's or 3.27's not sure yet

Do you guys think a Boss intake would be a wise choice so I can bring the RPM's up a little bit which should help slightly?
