I think I have narrowed my picks down to the 2.9 or the 3.4 whipple.
I know they both perform very well but I wasn't sure on a few things.

If I remember correctly, the 3.4 will go 30lbs and the 2.9 25, I realize on a stock motor both is probably plenty but what about on a built motor, long in the future for me.

Anyone have even a rough guess on the maximum output of the two?

Are the torque curves really much different between the two?

I know clearance will be an issue with the 3.4 and I really like the stock hood. Will a aftermarket K-Member be enough clearance for the 3.4 or will the install kit/aftermarket hood still be required?

One other thing, I haven't ruled out the kenne bell or even the hellion kit.
I have searched this topic over and over but there were a few things I didn't see.
I have posted this over on TS but I know a lot pf people don't visit there from here.

Any other thoughts or comments will be greatly appreciated.

is this your 1st modded car?

I would suggest the 2.9 over the 3.4, it will get 99% of the people out there to their personal goals be it a quarter mile time, dyno number, top speed, ect... Get a Innovators west lower thats 10% overdriven, a smaller upper and enjoy tire spin thru 80mph.

Work on your rear suspension before hand so you can make it hook with your newly found power.

I currently have J&M lowers, bmr uppers and panhard with eibach pro springs.
My last mustang was 95 gts w/ a vortech and 6 speed that went mid 10's w/ ac etc..
While I definitely aim for the track I never forget about streeting it.
My end goal in the LONG run is 1000+ HP streetable.

I would go turbo then, easier to make your number and still maintain streetability

Nothing against Hellion, but check around your local shops about having a custom built system made.

If you are going after that big of a number, I would say 3.4 and not the 2.9 dont forget the built motor:lol1: Buy it once and dont look back.

1000 flywheel horsepower is attainable for a 3.4 Whipple; if your thinking streetable 1000 rwhp Hellion is the way to your goal. Of course a built motor is a must.

I would say opinions are like ass holes, everybody has them and most of them stink. I'd be looking for some facts!
