10" all around?

I ordered a set of wheel and Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 XL tires based on their fantastic reviews. I am waiting for the weather to clear up before bolting them on though so I can't give a review.

they have a 280 wear rating so they aren't exactly gumballs but they are summer only tires. They are in the cold garage so I can't get a good feeling for how soft they will be in the summer heat.

The tire size you are looking at will be over an inch taller than the stockers which are already bordering on off road looking.

oh and +1 on the staggered look. I went with a 255/275 setup myself on a 8/9 rim. The 9" rim has a slight concave look.

how so the stock tires are 235 50 18 on 8" rim... the ones im looking at in the rear are 295 45 18 on a set of 10" rims

235x.50=117.5 mm

295x.45=132.75 mm

15.25 difference in sidewall height x both sides of the tire= 30.5 mm

30.5mm = 1.2"

I have 19" bremmer kraft br05 wheels.

Play with this spreadsheet. acrbill.com/car/mtc.xls

I was going to go the same route as you with the 10" stocker but instead of street tires I was going to get nitto 555r drag radials. The 305/40/18s are taller than stock but that only helps with a drag radial.

Just look for something close to the stock overall diameter.

go with the 275/40 sumitomos they have on american muscle so you can get the tires and sensors mounted for free.

wont the profile difference in both tires look goofy i mean 50 and 35 are vastly different

as for the stock tires, i love them, i can launch on the street with no hesitation

Yea, the 235s hook way better than I thought they would..

I am trying to do the stock look 10" rear wheels and use the stock fronts as well but I cant find a decent regular tire thats the same height or a tiny bit taller than the 235 front that will look OK on a 10" wheel without looking like a truck tire or tiny in the wheelwell.

I am probably going to go with 305/40/18 555rs if I do the 10" stock-look rears, 300.00 for the tires each is tough. I've had 555rs on a few cars and they last OK, hook well on the street but they arent too great in the rain, plus I was hoping to find something a little cheaper.

I have 265/40/18 drag radial on the stock wheels for the track, it looks a little goofy to me being almost an inch shorter then the fronts. They are supposed to be 26.6" but they are shorter than that even on 8" wheels that are a little too narrow.

If you find something post up..
