looking at getting some 10" wheels and i need tires, so i started looking into these 295/45-18 HANKOOK VENTUS ST RH06 108V, but im not sure.... what tires should i look into? suggestions welcome
10" all around?
I ordered a set of wheel and Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 XL tires based on their fantastic reviews. I am waiting for the weather to clear up before bolting them on though so I can't give a review.
they have a 280 wear rating so they aren't exactly gumballs but they are summer only tires. They are in the cold garage so I can't get a good feeling for how soft they will be in the summer heat.
The tire size you are looking at will be over an inch taller than the stockers which are already bordering on off road looking.
oh and +1 on the staggered look. I went with a 255/275 setup myself on a 8/9 rim. The 9" rim has a slight concave look.
how so the stock tires are 235 50 18 on 8" rim... the ones im looking at in the rear are 295 45 18 on a set of 10" rims
Play with this spreadsheet. acrbill.com/car/mtc.xls
I was going to go the same route as you with the 10" stocker but instead of street tires I was going to get nitto 555r drag radials. The 305/40/18s are taller than stock but that only helps with a drag radial.
Just look for something close to the stock overall diameter.
go with the 275/40 sumitomos they have on american muscle so you can get the tires and sensors mounted for free.
arent those crap tires?
wont the profile difference in both tires look goofy i mean 50 and 35 are vastly different
as for the stock tires, i love them, i can launch on the street with no hesitation
