I have a 2012 Ecoboost F150 currently. It is fast and tows aplenty. However it doesn't fit in my garage by about 2', gulps fuel like it is 1955 and the lady friend hates driving it drives like a big tall heavy truck which handles like garbage.

I need something equal or less than 225" long, can tow at least 3500 lbs (preferably at least 5k though) and is not slow.

I have been thinking about used Porsche Cayenne S/Turbos but remember the maintenance bills of the VAG stuff all too well. The SRT8 Jeep GC is pretty much perfect except the fuel mileage is worse than the truck. The Mercedes ML63 AMG is too expensive, plus fuel... The Touareg is too many $$'s for one with a warranty, plus slow.

So far the 2013 Explorer Sport is my top pick since it gets decent MPG, has power plus potential (0-60 in the 5's) and has a little bit of german in the handling.

Open to ideas?

Call me what you will, but I LOVE the Edge Sport.

But I don't mind the Explorer at all!

14/18 isn't that bad. Plus you get to hear the rumble of a 6.4 liter Hemi ;-) The 2014 model will now come with an 8 speed and a 8.4" nav/media screen. The interior has really stepped up.

11/14 on the 1st gen. The 2012's are too rich for my palette right now.

That would be ideal, plus the financing is decent on new Fords and I get X-plan.

TDI Touareg would be a legit choice. Or an Audi Q7 TDI 240/406 (@ 1750 RPM btw) and 19/28 MPG split isn't bad.

I drove one and was not impressed by the power, so I checked into tunes and they are super sketchy. I did get 36 mpg on my highway test loop though...
