need to kno a good gear/rpm to roll race

I have a 03 cobra bolt ons 470/466 ...need to kno a good speed or gear rpm to roll from 2nd or 3rd gear....

I like 40mph in 2nd. My car seems to pull real hard right about there. Traction can be iffy though even with drag radials on an upper only car. Hit a bump or a wee bit of gravel in the road when you're in it and you'll spin. If it hooks, you're good to go. The shift to third can win or lose you the race though.

Yea that 3rd gear is tuff thats why i asked about 3rd gear lol
....but i did just order a mgw short shifter to help

Typically for rolls you want to be in the 4k region but not more than 5k for the most part. in 2nd and 3rd..

Yeah ive been there before lol! Roll raced an '01 Camaro SS with a procharger, started in second 40 mph at about 3500rpm i believe. I got him on the hit and was starting to pull on him then missed thrird and he imediately got about a car and a half on me:bash:

When I got my car I added a fiore quadrant and firewall adjuster. It's a must to jam gears. After adjusting that with my pro 5.0 I can hit any gear like the car is an auto. I need to post an in car vid to show all the haters lol. Shifting is what wins or loses races. For 2nd, 40 roll FTW. 3rd gear rolls are kind of pointless unless you have some serious power.

Yeah I made the mistake of a 3rd gear roll and lost the first time I played around in my car. But another time I pulled from 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd is TOUGH.

i would add cobra bobs shifter gasket and I would also suggest the anti venom mod

I use to like 40 mph in second,(if you have the tire for it) and 70 mph in third.

4:10 gears and sticky tires in 1st gear always brings a smile to my face. Keep in mind it's not a Cobra but none the less its fun!:dancenana:

2nd gear 40MPH is where I like hitting it. I'll also do a 3rd gear 60MPH sometimes. First gear 15-20MPH is fun too if you have the tire for it.

I have 410s and in 2nd that puts me in my power band. But I have a na 4v... I don't know what gear comes in the 03/04 stock but I would have to say for a blower car 373 might be a good fit?

A pullied cobras sweet spot is 45-50 in 2nd gear.

40-50 roll For 2nd and 70-80 roll for 3rd are your good power ranges...
