New Drag Wheel/Tire Setup on my 2011 GT

I just got back from getting my new drag wheel/tire setup put on my 2011 GT and took a couple of quick pics before I go to work.

Wheels: 17x4.5" and 17x9.5" (7" BS) Race Stars

Tires: 185/55/17 M&H radials and 275/40/17 Nitto DR's

I looked at several different tires, including the 275/50/17 MT's. The stock tire height on my '11 GT was 27.3". The 275/50/17 MT is 28". I wanted to have it a little shorter than the stock height so that I would gain some gearing at the track. I have 3.73 gears and with the 275/40/17's it increases my gearing to about 3.94 without having to change the rear end gears.

I do know that it would look better if it had a taller, fatter tire on the rear!!

Car looks great! Thats the same wheel setup I want to run. Where did you purchase them? How much did they run? I do see them forsale on EBAY where they seemed reasonable.

I got the wheels from Latemodel Restoration ($194 each front, $259 each rear), the front tires from Summit Racing ($155 each) and the rear tires from Discount Tire ($156 each).

Looks good! Now we need some track results!

My aluminum driveshaft I'm getting from Shaft Masters should be here Wednesday or Thursday. I will then be waiting for some cool weather on a Friday night so that I can take the car to VA Motorsports Park for some 1/4 runs! :banana:

New pics of the car with the Race Star wheels (17x4.5 and 17x9.5 w/ 7 BS). I changed the rear tires from a 275/40/17 Nitto DR to a 295/45/17 Mickey Thompson DR. It fills the rear fenderwell better!
