Hey all, i just picked up a 2002 Silver Lightning. Im new to the Ford world, i had a 650hp Camaro SS a few years back, and this is my first fast car (truck) since then. This is my first Ford ever, but i know a lot about the modular mustangs and such from my drag racing days. Im also a mechanic for Lexus.

On to the truck.. i bought it with 111k miles.. a lot, but it runs great. It already has a 2.7 pulley, k&n intake, custom magnaflow exhaust, SCT tune, Ground force lowering kit, and some other stuff here and there. Pretty sure a few plugs have been blown out of this thing and have been heli-coiled.. im afraid to change the plugs, lol. But they were changed about 4k miles ago with TR6 NGK's.. was gunna swap them for the iridium versions.. but ill wait.

Looking forward to browsing the classifieds and buying parts. Also want to learn more about this beast of a truck. Since buying it, ive already installed a set of 5000k HID's in the headlights and foglights. I bought the 100mm Metco auxilary idler kit, C&L upper plenum, and a diablo predator, so i can get it retuned by my buddy's shop.

Pics...

BTW... the "SVT" decal on the door is now gone. Still debating about the Saleen stripes...

looks clean for a 100k+ truck.

Your plan of action is a good one, and when you do change the plugs, god be with you. It's a PITA the first time, especially with the EGR in there (which it appears you still have).

Thanks guys! Im pretty happy with it overall.. the seats are worn pretty badly, has some squeeks and rattles here and there, but its a solid truck from what i can tell.

Since it isnt my daily driver, i dont put many miles on it.. wonder how long a set of TR6's will last, lol. I may eventually do headers, and delete the EGR at that time.. i might get lazy and pay someone to change my plugs for me haha, everything else i can do myself :)

I wouldnt swap out the TR6's until they need it, they are a good plug, and for your mods, more than enough.
I want your wheels

nice truck. is the ISF yours too?

I wish it was an ISF.. just a little ol IS250 with the lexus ground effects kit.

congrats!!,,,,,, U got the best color!!...lol

For me, it was either gunna be silver, or save up for an 03-04 and get dark shadow gray.. im happy with silver though!

TR6's will last 10-15k miles, or until it starts to miss.

Good to know.. haha.. ill leave em in.

Yea, maybe when i need new plugs, ill be able to afford some real mods, like new heads... The wheels look better in pics than in person, haha.. but they arent bad.
