FLAME SUIT ON HERE!
after going through 2 4.6 motors (original spun a rod at 150k. 2nd one snapped a timing chain 5 minutes into startup) and 3+ years of my cobra being down, I started looking a built long block to finally do things the right way. I couldn't find any locally that I could check out in person, but my good buddy offered up his H/C/I forged 347 from his 2000 firebird. He was selling the roller, and I got a great deal on the long block. the motor has milled/ported AFR 205s, custom grind cam, ported FAST 90, etc.
it took a lot of research and time spend spinning my wheels, but searching the threads on here helped a ton. It was well worth the swap!
Ended up putting down 450/404 to the ground. I was hoping for more, but I'll see how it does at the track.
behind the LS motor is a c6z06 trans converted to work in an Fbody trans from a member here. I also bought MM's Grip box to help it take corners well. that included coil overs all the way around, pan hard bar, torque arm, tubular K member and control arms, and eibach sway bars.
after much thought, the current headlights are probably going to be replaced with some stock ones.
anyways, heres the pics of my long term finished (for now) project.
