How did you do that 4th pic? Was that just an SLR set up on a tripod with manual exposure, letting the car sit a while and then just pulling away?

I would love to do a pic of my Mercury like that

My buddy had it raised up on a tripod, flashed my car a few times then I drove off and he took the pic. Flashing the car burned the image into the lens or something. I don't know what he was using camera wise.
