Hi guys i am brand new to this site. I am looking into buying an 03/04 Cobra and would like to educate myself on what to look for when buying. I know everything about LS1's but very little about the 4.6 DOHC blower motor that came in these two years. What are some problems that these motors have or any problems in general these cars have so i can look for them when shopping. thanks.

btw..how do you post a picture

As for the pictures, you need a hosting service... try www.photobucket.com ...its free and easy

All your other questions can be answered by just reading. Ive spent more hours on here searching through the vast info than I have in school!

You'll get this allot here. Use the search feature.
Rear diff cover cracks even with stock power. Easy cheap fix.
Enigne tick. Ford replaces head or get headwork. Hit and miss who has the tick.
Stall issue. Reflash from Ford or tuner.
Stock alignment car steers to the right. Get re-alignment.
Throwout bearing chirps. Ford fix
Wheel hop. IRS issue. Get 315s + bushings
Halfshafts break. Too much wheelhop or lots of power on drag strip launch.
Blown FPS and/or FPDM. Pressure spikes. Too many amps. ???
I'm sure theres more.

Is the ticking noise like a lifter hitting the valve cover noise or what? Im used to my LS1 piston slap..the all aluminum engine is quite noisy

the tick is caused by poor coolant flow through the head. The rear cylinders get "warm" coolant and the valve guides eventually warp, causing the valve stem to slap around a bit. Once in a while a little puff of smoke can be seen in the exhaust (minor oil burn). The main issue is a loud "ticking" sound that develops from the rattling stem. It's annoying and just basically sounds like trash. My Marauder had it and the noise was audible from 50' away. Doesn't hurt performance or effect reliability though. It's just an annoyance.
