I know the Nitto 315s will fit on a stock rim. I know it's not the best idea. But, I know people have done it. I've read about the bump steering effect you get from the large side wall bulge. I don't autocross. I go in straight lines. I'm more interested in pictures... I want to see how they look in the fenders and from behind.

FYI... I'm running the Nitto 555RII 275s in the back. Not so good...

i dont have any pics, but they look a little wider than the stockers. not by much though. a little buldge. i've been running them for years. no worries. cept they dont hook when it's cold out.still better than a street tire when you have a twinscrew.

they will fit just fine, and are soo narrow for 315's you got nothing to worry about. I would look a 10.5" or 11" replica wheel to match the stockers if you prefer that look and then you could run much wider tires

I ran them to be safe on a 10.5 inch rim...well, they are a very narrow 315 so the rim isn't too protected lol...

I think the Nitto 555R's look too skinny on a 10.5" rim. I have a spare set of 10.5" wide rims laying around with those tires mounted and they look TINY. I mean it just looks wrong, and i seriously am thinking about selling those tires before i consider putting those wheels back on the car. at least after now running some BFG KDW 315's... Plus those DR's never hooked for shit even on my ~300rwhp geared 99 cobra

edit: to give them a little credit, they did stop the wheelhop on that car

It's good to see you finally looking for some traction to put that Whipple to good use.
I run the Nitto 315s as my daily driver.
They hook decent on the street but are not the best for the track.
Get some cheap ebay special rims to mount some track only tires and let's go play!!
1.6x 60' will be in your future.

Couple ?s What size wheels are the factory cobras? I ask because i have a mach with the 17x8s with nitto 275s and they look just as big as the 315s in the picks. I also have a set of 17x10.5 mach wheels with the 315 bfgs and was gonna put the nitto 315's on them instead to match my fronts but now i'm thinking against it. how do the 315 nittos compare to the bfg's traction wise? as my 275s with 4:30 and the blower are worthless on the street i have slicks for the track and i know that theres two sets of bfg drag radials out there how do the pare with the larger tread pattern wear? just looking for some info before i buy tires.
