TBcobra , the proper way to do a compression test , is with all plugs out at once .
I have never in 50 years done it as you explained.
Maybe I am wrong , wouldn't be the first or last time .

I would think as long as all the cylinders are tested in the same way the readings would work. How TBCobra explained it was how I did it except I didn't pull the fuse as trying to start the car with the gas to the floor shuts off the injectors. Only difference was I did it with the engine cold.

Never heard of doing it that way. When I did my last compression test they all came back within 5 psi of each other.

To each his own though.
