There is a lot threads about Oil on here. Opinions on different brands, but pretty much everyone sticks to the 5W50 no matter the brand.

The motorcraft 5w50 shears to a 40 weight oil VERY quickly. MOST people are not running 5w50, they are running Amsoil 10w40..... I am running Royal Purple HPS 10w40 in my 13, have so for over a year now with no problems whatsoever ---- was also suggested to me by Unleashedbeast....

5w20 is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too thin...

I run Mobil One 5w-50, and change it after nearly every track event.
In my situation (car is primarily tracked), I wouldn't run lower than a 50-weight oil for it's better film strength and ability to sustain oil pressure at higher rpm's (even though I am running a multi-viscosity oil).
Honestly, I probably wouldn't recommend going to a 40-weight oil.
