How much did you pay for each individual thing to include the HID housings, I'm looking to do the HID upgrade but ford wants like 750 for each housing. Anybody know any blackmarket people, lol?

And also for those that don't know, according to a ford tech who does all my upgrades that require a lift, he said that the ballasts for the HID housings from ford are already inside the housing, so no need to buy ballasts. Then again he could just be making crap up, anybody heard differently?

Wait wait wait... I can order the OEM hid housings and just use an aftermarket hid kit??? OMFG this is great news, cause I wanted 6000k anyway like I have on my car now. My hid kit is already in and wired so all I would have to do is swap housings and bulbs.

yea, much easier than dealing with all of this BS.

i heard HID put more load on the motor, thus less hp.

i hope your joking

This is where I got mine, same seller. Super legit. Ships in Ford boxes and she even provides the new pigtails needed.

Yes, they are inside the housing.
An entire OEM kit on E-Bay is about 900

Was a bitch, but we ended up figuring it out. TOTALLY WORTH IT!! No Ford dealers or Ford techs in my area knew how they would be wired up either since proper HID/NON-HID pin connector diagram's don't seem to exist - so we got the best directions on forums we could find and a test light and decided to wing it.

Found THIS THREAD and the OP's info (Read: first post only!) actually helped and is/was the correct way to do them - but was a little difficult to follow due to how he worded things. Just get 2 relays and a bunch of quick connects and some wire that matches the gauge of the ones on the new HID pigtail.

Here is a diagram of how the NON-HID headlight wires will be wired up to the new HID pigtail, just use this pic for how to wire up the NON HID to HID pigtails initially then follow the instructions on first post of link above for the rest such as wiring certain wires together, then connect to the relay, etc:

NOTE: The new HID pigtail wires are all the same green color. Just snap the new pigtail into the back of the headlight and go from Right to Left to wire up like picture above.

I unfortunately could not take proper pics that made any sense at the time (it was 4am when we finally figured it out and honestly all the wires looked the same to me) but here are how the 2 relays look like all done:

Hope this helped a little bit

Thanks for your help again; But I now have the HID wiring harness in front of me ( 4 green wires) I see a small 1 and 4 on the black plastic HID connector . I'm assuming 1 is the Low beam wire and 4 is the High beam wire ? Thanks dave

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but has anyone used an aftermarket HID kit in the factory HID housing (projector)? It might simplify things a bit.
