We'll after a long process of fixing and building our car it finally came out of the shop last week. We still have a few small bugs to work out, but after changing just about every part/bolt/nut/wire on the car i totally expected bugs to show up eventually. Here was the shop owner backing the car out for the first time.

Its a 66' Mustang Coupe
Real Healthy SBF 408 :D
Tko600 With MGW Shifter
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
Aluminum everything
Ford 9" Moser 31 spline Axles
Wilwood Disc Brakes all the way around
MSD Full ignition setup
Entire new flooring with through the floor subframes

We did a lot of fabricating to the rear leaf suspension so that we could fit a 275+ tire out back without any tubbing. After fitting the wheels and tires, turns out we could of went with a 10.5" wheel with 295's. So that will be done over winter.

I want to thank everyone who helped us with the car as well as Authentic Auto/Jim Plimpton for an insane engine and all the help with the car.

Very cool car! I would LOVE to see some pics of the rear leaf mods.

I had a '65 coupe.. with a Paxton 1200, 5 speed, and 3.55 gears. The biggest tire I could get to NOT rub was a 235. I had horrible traction issues, but it was fun. LOL

^^ SICK!!!! I love that setup

As for the Rear Leaf mods, i will take pictures for you guys. In a nut shell, we cut the leaf shackles out. Moved them over 2" toward the fuel tank. Then fabbed up our own brackets. I have my rear leaf shackle on Sliders.....wait to you see them. Its awesome!

That we we still have a godo 3/4" between the leaf springs and the tank, as well as being able to fit 305/295 tire now with the right offset wheel combo. But im a Mickey Thompson fan, and the 295 is the only tire they have with a 45 sidewall for a 17" rim so that will be my choice!

how about your brake setup. i have 03 cobras up front but my master cylinder wont push enough to lock them up.
4 Piston up front, 2 piston Wilwood outback. Wilwood Master. I havent tried to lock them up. They are there forsure, as it slowed me down very fast from high speeds lol. But Jim wanted to play with them a little once i got a few miles on the car. I think he was talking about a valve or something to give them more bite.

Love the car...nice work...props to you guys for doing such a cool project

if it was my car, i'd change out those wheels ASAP......

Thanks a lot! I know everyone isnt going to like everything about the car, but im cool with that! I started the project for my Dad and he loves it so im all smiles

I had 4 wheel disc on my '65 too. I used the Force 10 stuff from SSBC. It worked great. No joke.. I will never build another vintage car without a 5 speed and disc brakes. OMG, it was like a different car!

Those are just a few pics of the underside. Sunday ill be free, so ill take some pictures of the rear suspesion more in depth for you guys.

When we did the through the floor subframes and welded them in with the new floor. Those made the perfect spot to make into our front leaf shackle. You can see that in the last picture!
