got a canned email from him. I responded. my work doesn't allow cell conversation and he tried to call....I'll try to meet up with him this weekend.

Like a previous poster mention, a Lotus Elise/Exige is like a go-cart, but when I went to sit in one, I almost had to buy it right then because I couldn't get the **** out of it. Maybe I'm too old, but I at 6' 260, I was def too big.
You might want to consider my old car. Similar can be had for well below your budget. Closest thing to a modern incarnation of a 427 Cobra, if you ask me. Looks like ass with the top on, but I never drove it like that! You can even pop out the rear window, too.
