Since the search function is still down. What is the part number for a gates belt that I should use with the 2.80 pulley, and 100 mm idler? I went today, and bought one, but I got one that is too narrow. Only seven ribs. It says 74 1/8, but it is as long as my 73.5 in belt. the part number was 070735. So which one is everyone else using.

I'm pretty sure you want the K080745 belt. That's what I'm using with my 2.90" pulley and 100mm idler set. Maybe someone can confirm it.

I use a 74 inch belt with the 2.95 w/o an idler. My guess is a 2.80 w/idler = 74 inch. I don't know that part number but the belt ends in 740.

I couldnt get a 740 on mine (2.80 and 100mm idler) Running a xxxx745. Going to get someone to help me stretch the 740 just a little maybe and try again to wrap that tight bastad around there once more (its a gatorback, 740 is a gates).

Pretty sure youll be ok with a 745, i have that on my 2.93 and 100mm and its tight. You should have the range with that belt, if your not sure Terry at south florida pulley will set you up with the right one, e mail him, he's quick to respond.

surfnerv, the 740 gates will fit with the 2.80 and idler but will be a tight fit, gates only other option is a 745 witch is to long and the 733 witch only works on 2.80 with no idler.

The gates belt part# for the belts start with K080 and the last three digts are length I use a K080745 = 74.5 inch belt

That is not correct. The K080745 belt is 75 1/8" long. I've got a new belt right here in front of me.

This is something I don't understand. The belt I bought ended in 735, but said it was 74 1/8 long. but I compared it to my gatorback 73.5 in belt, and it was the same. Do the gates stretch out?

I've never used a Gatorgback belt so I'm not familiar with their sizes. I just know that the K080745 belt is 75 1/8". I always thought that the last three digits represented the length but found out last summer that wasn't true.

I have the same pullies with a Gates 740 belt. No problems installing it, but it is a little tight.

When you tried to install it, were you sliding the belt over one of the idlers as a final step? Some people try to slide the belt over the blower pulley last...that doesn't work. Just curious if that was the issue...

Cobrabob is correct the last three number do not represent length. I found that in a post by a vender on here a while back I sounds correct so I remembered it. I just checked and found out I was wrong, so I guess that I should'nt belive everything I read.:(

It would really help if the Gates website listed the size with the part number, because I think many assume the last three digits represent the length.
