Lol is this a serious question? Of COURSE it needs a tune, do not drive it until you do.

well im asking that because when i spoke to steigmeir they were telling me ooo you dont need to tune it after we port it so i was kind shocked...well i gotta drive it to the tune shop lol.. so i guess i gotta drive it

You most definitely need a tune, especially whenever changing boost levels. The difference between a 2.76 and a 2.8 is .04 so it won't make a difference. Leave your stock blower on, when you are ready to get a tune, put the port on. Try and get a lower too. You will probably need injectors, a maf, and a bap. So you need to look at all these things before you start throwing a ported blower. Use the search function, this question is asked multiple times a week.

There must be something lost in the communication somewhere. I can't believe they said going from stock to port you don't need a retune. Especially when they offer tuning to locals that buy their ports.

And you can drive it after putting the blower on, but do not go WOT. And try to stay out of boost. This is only if you are trying to drive to the tuner after install because we all know if you drive it a while before getting it tuned, most people will push it a little more each time they drive thinking everything is ok.

If you have an xcal2 or 3 you can get an email tune from your tuner that is a base file for your mods. You still should not go WOT, that is only to set the tune up for injectors, MAF pumps, EGR delete, etc.

I never retuned after installing my port BUT i did fatten up the tune 4% with my Xcal2 AND i have a wideband to monitor the AF.

I did also cook a stock piston three weekends after installing the port but i attributed that to my own greed in my quest for 10s by hot lapping the car and later finding out i had one of my 60s flowing too much.

Get the tune... LOL
