A year or so ago, I bought my first Superduty, and have really enjoyed it. It's not the prettiest or fastest, but its given me the opportunity to do what I need to, and learn a bit.

It's an early '99 F-350 SRW 4x2 ECLB. Yes, I know its a bit of an oddball, but I got it cheap enough that it didnt matter, lol.

Anyway, here's how it started out:

-Pretty humble, huh?

Here was the first step - pulled the bodyside mouldings, buffed the front lights, tinted the tails:

After that, I started on a dechrome/lighting update. Pulled the chrome grille and front bumper, and installed a custom painted XL bumper and grille, and added some '05+ Harley Davidson headlights. Also added exhaust, 6.0 trans cooler, and sound stuff.

Well, I go tthe itch for some more changes, and was able to pick up my first graduation present - a set of Panther Juice 8's, in a 22x9.5,with 305/40-22 Kumho Ecsta STX's powdercoated black. One of my old bosses re-pinstriped the truck. Earlier, I'd had the truck windows re-tinted as well.

Forgive the pics - I've been working all kinds of crazy hours, and havent been able to get some really good pics, but snapped these the other night:

I know it needs a drop and some bodywork, but I really like the way the truck is going. Plans from here on are to finish the de-chrome, drop, bedcover and put some 05-07 badges on the fenders for a start.

What you guys think?

Thanks, all... I've been lucky enough to catch some good deals, and had access to the places to do a lot of the work that's been done. Many thanks to my friends who have helped me along the way.

If you pay attention, you can find good deals on these trucks, especially if a couple years and miles don't bother you... Mine's now at 252K, and still drives/rides/pulls great - just like everything else, its all about the maintenance.

I really wanted the more common CCSB, but folks here and in anywhere a close locale want $12K for a 200k+ truck that you can tell has seen some abuse.

From here on mine, there are a LOT of small things to decide on, like what year back bumper, what year front buckets, etc to use. this is the part that gets hard, and can get EXPENSIVE

one benifit of the early 99's is that they all had forged rods! throw some hybrids in it with a 38R turbo and you'll be eating up fox bodies ;)
