So, the average driver with those mods would run 11's and consistently trap 120+ MPH?

I don't think so.

Same goes for the Cobra.

Don't put words in my mouth I never said 120+. Honestly I would say ~118 for both but my money would be on the 5.0.

I still do not see an average driver pulling even 118. To be fair, both cars with those mods and average drivers are 12.0-12.4 @ 114-116 MPH cars.

Toss great drivers in, they will both run mid 11's, however, the Cobra will trap higher as they've proven to do so.

I said 118 avg for both. 5.0 has been 120+ at full weight. not to mention 123 is rare if not the full weight best for a pullied only car.

I've never seen a Bolt-on FULL WEIGHT 5.0 trap 120, let alone 123 even once.

I've seen multiple 117-119's out of a bolt-on 5.0 with some weight reduction.

Not saying it hasn't happened, or can't, just have not seen it with out own 1.5 eyes.

I said mid to high 11s (11.7 or so) at around 120. Yes, those results are very commonly seen from a pullied Cobra. Very good drivers have seen low 11s at around 123mph. Low 12s and up isn't a very good time for a pullied Cobra considering stock Cobras with 100 whp less are running mid to high 12s. Don't forget he listed DRs as a mod for these cars.

I agree.

Low 12's is a poor time for a pullied cobra, and is a result of an average driver.

These guys seem to think an Average 5.0 is always an 11 second car.

It's really not.

I don't own a cobra

I just don't see a Bolt on 5.0 running deep 11's @ 120+ like a well driven pullied cobra will run.

Once the 5.0 came out, their new owners thought they were the fastest out there. It's sad an 8 year old car is still faster. Even thought I'd rather have a 5.0 than a terminator, that doesn't mean because I think the 5.0 is faster. Just preference.

I do.

I see bolt on ones with gears and good tires goin mid 11s at 116-118 mph around here.

They are fast cars and honestly, I dont see a cobra vert raping one like the OP says he did...but thats why racing on the street is dumb.

For all you know that other dude was racing in 5th gear.

At my home track Full bolt on 1/4 mile time! - The Mustang Source - Ford Mustang Forums  .. I have seen 5-6 pullied cobras run down the same track and the highest trap was 121. I have also seen 113-114 stock 5.0 traps

My cobra with pully exhaust and air filter trapped 124 in the 1/4 mile ran 11.7 granny shifting with a 1.7x 60ft and I'm not the greatest stick shift car driver

What tire?

You seem to be selling your self short cause 1.7x 60 with the irs is pretty sold and 11.7 @ 124 with those bolt ons is REALLY quick...

A friend has a auto 5.0 with x-pipe, axle back, air intake, 3.73s, and a tune. They will get down

Are there ANY full weight bolt on 5.0s trapping 124?

Your wife drives an 800+WHP cobra. That's awesome!
