I recently purchased a set of 15x8 Racestars and not 100% sure what size tire to go with.

I currently have 18x10 285/40/18 tires all around and planned on running at the strip with my front wheels and the racestars with 275/50/15 or 275/60/15 in the rear with ET street radials.

Would the 26" or the 28" benefit me more? I'm assuming the 26" tires would be best.

Car has stock 3.15 gears.

My main question is going to be is it ok to run the front 18s with with the 15s in the rear? Does anyone see any issues I should be concerned with?

The 26's will be best, a 28" tire is basically like knocking your gear down another ratio. As far as the 15's and 18's that's not really the issue in my dealings with abs systems. It's when you have two different overall tire sizes that can cause issues typically.

That's the thing the front tires will be 27" tires and the rears will be 26".

I'm no expert with these, I know with my 94 I'd have issues on the top end with my slicks and skinnies throwing and codes but that was years ago and I can't remember what the differences were in size. Plus these are just a tad more advanced.

I just made pretty much the same thread and no response lol.

Im either going 275/60/15 or 295/55/15. I want a 28" Tire but don't want a puny looking tire at the same time.

I run a 26" front and a 28" rear tire. No issues with the ABS. These cars actually benefit from a 28" tall tire, especially the auto. Auto's have a 4.17 first gear ratio and as you start to make power a 26" rear tire will simply not hook that well. The exact tires I run are a 275/60-15 M/T Drag Radial Pro and a 26x4.5-15 Good year front. I hope this helps. Good luck.

LOL you are funny dude. Everyone has different opinions, every car is different. What you said wasn't wrong and very true for the SN95's. These cars seem to be a little different it seems like, I speak from personal experience and I am sure there are better combos out there. What works for me may not work for others as every car reacts different.

I have a full set of Biggs and littles with a 28 inch drag radial and I also have another rear set different color with 26 inch slicks but I want to run the drag radials so do I need to add some gear to my A6?

Depends on how much power you make I would guess? If you plan to spray off the line I would probably leave it alone. If you plan to run the 1/8th in Green Cove then I would put in lower gears, but if you just want to street race keep stock gearing.

Probably most DR guys here including myself run 15s in the rear and 17s in the front to clear the brakes. No issues with different size wheels from front and rear.

I'm running 295/55-15's in the rear (27.8") and a Hoosier front radial that is about 25.5". No problem with the ABS. The 295's are a nice balance between a 275/50-15 which is only 25.8" tall and a 275/60-15 which is 28.0" tall. Being you have the 15x8 wheels you won't be able to run the 295's.

The Mickey Thompson 295s say it will work on 8" wheels

I googled 295s on 8" wheels and it doesn't look bad either
