Well, I know I have the RST, and the noise is crazy in 4th from 1600-1900 RPMs.

If it's sprung, then that would mean the noise is from being dual plates. I didn't think it was sprung though ....

Like I said, twin discs to get a little noisy. I thought those were sprung, but not sure off hand. Sounds like they may not be though.

So I talked to someone in tech support at Mcleod that seemed very knowlegable with the GT500's and made me feel a little better about the unsprung.
He also gave me the new sku for the kit with the Billet Steel flywheel that was $1149 instead of $1372. (Part number 6435807M)
So I was able to snag one from Summit for $1036 shipped which is a nice bonus!

Here is the link, if you guys are looking for a sweet deal (ignore the alum flywheel text. I think that is incorrect as they are all incorrectly listing as alumuminum)
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mcl-6435807m/

Thanks for the help guys. Fingers crossed!

When I had my McCleod RXT installed rather than machine my OED FW or buy a steel replacement I opted for the McCleod Aluminum Flywheel # 573408. I love this setup. I love how it feels when shifting . Deccel is simply not a problem. Despite it being much more centrifugally light...with 410's it rolls in/out of my garage without stalling as I lift the clutch off a 950rpm idle.
Summit sells the ALFW for $440. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mcl-573408
