How difficult is it to replace the rear wheel speed sensor. I think mine is bad on the drivers side. I had a flat and the ABS light came on for like a day. Replaced the tire and it went away for about three days then came back on and has remained on. (about 3 months now)

You may have a dirty front sensor that is throwing the code. The rears typically don't throw bad signals unless you have a leak and the oil is collecting dust and debris.

If you do have to replace the rear, they just plug together under the rear seat with a grommet going through the floor pan to the differential.

Try cleaning them off first, they p/u lots of debris.

That IS the case for the fronts. Not so much the rears.

As far as I know, the sensor is just held in place on the spindle by a single bolt. Remove the bolt, unplug the wire, and reinstall the new one.

You're describing the front sensor.

FWIW
