What's the best things to add to my new ruger AR? There is a local tactical shop I plan on visiting that I'm sure has anything I want to buy but thinking of a fore grip, sling and osprey sight. What else is good to do? I haven't even fired it yet

I'd buy lots of ammo and range time to get "acquainted" with your rifle before worrying about adding accessories.......

And training. Lots of training.

Then sling and a Geiselle trigger.

Go ahead and get the Geiselle trigger and sling. I wouldn't waste time with the factory trigger. Buy a quality optic from the get go.

Pass on the grip and go with a quality optic and modded trigger as said

It's a great rifle and I agree, load up on as much ammo as you can. Goes quickly

I think it was you in the gun porn thread I said this to. Regardless, before anything else, replace the handgaurd with a handgaurd that has a heat shield. I went with a Magpol MOE and it is worlds arpart in comfort after 50 rounds down range.

Put some rounds down range, figure out what you don’t really like, and mod accordingly.

Don’t throw the parts catalog at it and make it into a 15 lb monstrosity that doesn’t do anything particularly well.

There was just a write up on this I read after I bought my Ruger AR. Most experts will tell you to leave it stock or minimally get a scope. The guns good as it sits now unless you have plans to comp shoot.

Ammo and training.

If for defensive purposes, a white light.

I've had my Daniel Defense rifle for years. I didnt add anything to it. The best thing I can do is practice. I've shot my buddy's M&P 15 side by side with mine and they are the same to me. Dont get caught up in G.I. Joe-ing your rifle out.

This is a good source for AR info or gun info in general. No sponsors bs and it's strait to the point. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuaA8yuX-bV0Ex5Sou1oyxg

Nice rifle!

As other said, quality sights and a decent handguard

I have magpul mbus sights (they are ok) and a Diamondhead USA aluminum handguard on my armalite M15

whats wrong with the hand guard and sights (i assuming it comes with sights) it comes with?
I haven't done any long range shooting with mine. So for the time being the sights are fine. The handgaurd doesn't have a heat shield. So at around 50 rnds fired it starts to get too hot hold.

Trigger time and ammunition should come long before any accessories.

I prefer Timney triggers, but if anything that might be the first mod.
