Run against new 5.0 cost me a tranny

When to a local muffler shop to get my tailpipes welded but place went out of business. So I decided to come home. Well as I was driving home a new 5.0 started to ride my tail. He passes me up then pulls over on the side of the road. I continue driving minding my own business.We catch a red light. He pulls up next to me revving and telling me to run him. I hardly street race but I was like what the hell. I revved my car up to 3500 and timed the light as soon as the light green I dumped the clutch I instantly put a 1 1/2 on him shifted to 2nd then when I shifted to 3rd I heard a snap I seen my rpms flare, so I knew right away 3rd was gone so I shifted to 4th and still had him about 2-3 cars. Then I slowed down he caught up and gave me a thumbs up and gave him thumbs up too.

Must have been a 2012 V6 with 5.0 badges....

The new 5.0's with the stock tires will lay rubber through 3rd gear. I find it very believable that the OP hooked and the 5.0 didn't. Its a game of traction.

my car made 300/300 with a FR500 catback and Mac Prochamber
made 276 Stock

his car with the mods he listed prolly makes 305-312...still not enough for a 5.0 but hey shit happens
