Chevy guys say the exact same thing. I think the BMW is like 4.0L V8 at 400hp NA. Run whatcha brung.

Which makes that race all the more interesting. 7psi on top of 400HP and it still lost to a car that's probably still under 500HP. The Bimmer should be making at least 520HP.

And the guy in the GT was shifting his ass off!

There are a lot of factors involved but we can kind of guess the power and we can agree the E39 is heavy sedan...its a toss up.

Probably close to same whp between the two cars and yes the E39 weighs alot more too. Nice close race, those are the best imo.

A proper S/C e39 M5 should be making approx 500whp. Combine that with a curb weight of 3800lbs and it doesn't seem right.

But anything can happen on the street.

*Edit-- just saw 7 psi, could be a little more realistic now...

An S550 GT Premium is over 3800 pounds. So there's not much difference in weight between those two.

not at my post...
I am not surprised by this outcome. I love E39s, but they are heavy, right around 4,100lbs (4,087). Then add the weight of the SC and its ancillary hardware, you probably add another 50-70lbs on the nose of that E39.

He more than likely is around 460whp and 4100lbs.

My friend weighed his e39m in at a bit over 4k. With the blower its probably close to 4100. I forgot the 2015 has a bit more weight so the difference isnt as much as I thought which makes this such a good run.

5.0, 400bhp stock. Fantastic motor especially considering how old it is. The Germans have been making better muscle cars than the US crew for a while now. The second gen CTS-V helped catch back up at least.
