Saleen Plant Tour Woodward 2006

We got to go on a tour of the Saleen plant on Saturday morning at Woodward.

This was a go anywhere, ask any qustions tour.

Few Facts from the Saleen plant

-Takes 2 days to strip a mustang GT and covert it to a saleen.
-Saleen will soon be making a F-150 Truck and extreme Mustang

-All FORD GT's were made at the Saleen plant
-The last FORD GT for the US has been built and is currently in the plant
-The next 180 GT's being built are all Canadian
-There will be no more FORD GT's ever made =(

That's the Saleen SR. Kinda like the Saleen S7 but back in the day. That or just a Mustang with a Saleen SR body kit...who knows.

Woodward Dream Cruise was in Detroit. Its the largest cruise of it's kind...happens every year...the Saleen factory was only a few blocks from our hotel so we ventured over. It was cool because it was a piece of history as no more GT's will ever be made.

The mystic 04 Saleen you see is a customers car which when finished will be close to the same price as a FORD GT. I dont have the specs on it, but it had some serious rubber at 345 and I was told it will have some serious go. :banana:

That Saleen SR is BADASS!!!!!!!!!!! It's got a supercharged 351 in it making like 505 HP and 500 TQ! But it's supposed to be like race ready!! Def looks BADASS!!!!!!!!
