This winter I plan on getting my seats redone (buying the reproduction covers from tmi) but since I have mineral grey would u stick to grey inserts or go over the the dark inserts?

Dark for sure! And the vinyl/microfiber look just as nice IMO but don't wear or crease like the leather/suede does.

To the dark side I shall go then n I won't cheap out n will go with the leather alcantra combo.

I wouldn't say its cheaping out. Yes they cost less but after a short while, the expensive leather/alcantera combo begins to wear, crease and the bolster starts looking like crap if you're not careful and don't take care of them. We all know thats the truth based on the factory seats in these cars. The vinyl/suede option is a durable material that looks identical but will not wear anywhere near as fast. Thats the only reason i mentioned it.

Either way, GL with it bud.

....SRT u have a very good point and I just assumed that the alcantara n leather would b very durable. But this car gets driven and I need durable so I think u may have swayed me to that side!!

You won't be disappointed. I have them in my car. Seats look brand new man. Very low maintenance and cheaper to boot for the covers. No one knows the difference even when they've been in the car. Even to the touch they feel just as plush. Solid option IMO if u drive the car a lot.

For stockers, dark is always the best.... But I'll through you a curve and suggest looking at a set of Lg1 front black suedes! I made the switch and love them!

+1 on the vinyl/suede replacement. There are only a few of these cars that are in factory, unmodified condition so there's no reason not to use what works better. My driver's seat needs recovering (the alacantra looks like a blanket that's been washed too much) and I'm going vinyl/suede. It's a 10 year old DD anyway.

Exactly! I'm extremely impressed at how nice they look. You literally cannot tell the difference other than requiring far less maintenance and not showing any wear.

When I was at Mustang Week I literally stood next to and compared the difference between the leather and the vinyl and after talking to the guys at TMI, they persuaded me into the vinyl. They had vinyl 10th anniversary seats that looked absolutely stunning.
