Shelby GT500 Stock Cams

I know there has been a lot of conflicting info on this, and perhaps this is already known here, but just in case I thought I should share what our resident parts expert jimmysidecar has come up with. Thanks to dgussin1 for use of his VIN, Jimmy is now absolutely certain. Any way ... the Shelby GT500 does not have the Ford GT cams in it. It uses the Terminator cams (Navi intake and 99/01 Cobra exhaust).

(P.S. And just in case, Terminator cams ≠ Ford GT cams.)

I wouldn't think cams that made power to 6500 on 4.6L would also make power to 6500 with a 5.4L

Tis true. I was wrong :bash: they are .394/.394" 184/194 @ .050 sticks. Al is going to Cam Dr. a set of GT cams in the next week or two. They are around .440" lift though I'm unsure on the duration at this point.
I guess this just goes to show how well GT/GT500/R heads flow vs. a very nice (03/04 generic) 4.6 head.
Also, I'll still bet that the GT500 will benefit greatly from aftermarket sticks.

In a way, it is a good thing you were wrong. We are already seeing impressive stock GT500 track times and dyno numbers and now we know there is even more room to improve from a cam swap than expected!!!

The GT500's cams (all four) have the same exact part numbers as the Terminator cams.

The Ford GT has it's own specific cams. Part numbers are at the end of the old thread.
