Are those toyo proxy TQ drag radials? How do you like them? Thinking about picking up a set of 315/35R18

Yes they are. And they're 315/35/18s on an 18x11. I ran those for the past 2 years.

I just replaced them with a 305/35/18 R888 and as weird as it sounds...the 100 tread rated R888 hooks better on the street than the 0 tread rated TQs did for me. Its a real head scratcher...the only thing I can figure is the 315/35 TQ was just a little too much bulge and didn't create quite as good a contact patch as this slightly smaller R888. These things fit wonderful on the 18x11, the contact patch forming across the tread is perfect.

I'd imagine at a prepped drag strip and a smokey burnout that might change with the TQ...but for cold street duty these R888s are phenomenal

Damn goid job man. Mine were done for in about 9 months lol. They were still driveable tires but tread was very low after having a bitch load of races haha. I've heard nothing but great things about the R888's.

Here's my new toy, previous owner already spent the big money on built motor, fuel system, and twins. Now I have to go through suspension, brakes, and some TLC and she'll be perfect.

9 months, nice! LOL

I should have worded mine better...I actually went through 2 sets of TQs. 1 set per year, about 1500 miles. No drag racing only street ripping. The tread life was about as bad as any tire I've ever owned. This car makes 714/680 twin screw E85

I'm hoping these r888s last a little longer, we'll see.

Ok cooI thought I ran my TQ's too hard haha I just had an 5spd O/R x cat back 4.10 mach. Yea mine lasted about 1500 or so miles also. I did ALOT of racing on the street and they definitely hooked.

I heard the R888'S have a better/softer compund so they hook better which means they might go out faster if you drive it as you did when you had the TQ's. Id like an update after a few months of you having thoae R888's though
