Was wondering if anyone tried silicone radiator hoses instead of rubber.

I was looking at the HPS kit and I liked it a lot, my hoses are 20 years old now (No leaks whatsoever) and I figured it’s time to change them.. Mainly doing it for durability and aesthetics.

Do they leak, gets loose, doesn’t seal etc..

Thanks in advance!

Silicone is preferred over rubber hoses for a number of reasons. They handle higher coolant temps (not normally a huge plus), but they're more expensive. They're also more durable than rubber and last longer. Here is maybe TOO much info comparing them, but I'm posting it in case you're interesting it knowing more.

This is the kit and I also got and I run the Gates power grip hose clamps to get rid of the cheap metal chicken clamps.

We use them on our diesels with a spring type clamp and they work well.
