Found more damage!!
I was in a hurry this morning and thought to myself "Shit...got jacked...oh well, not worth 500 deductable" and hauled ass into work. During lunch, I decided to file a police report and look the car over well and that's when I noticed that they scratched the damned car all over, not too bad, but bad enough. ALSO, they tried to break into my Girlfriend's Jeep!!! The police noticed that her handle had been tampered with! Ghetto as people. I'm so OUT of this place!
I live in apartments. They're duplexes and face-each other. I live in the apartment nearest the street, not the parking/alley. I've had no problem up until today. The bad part is that I live 7 miles from the Mex/US border and we've had major problems with car theft as
long as I can remember. Now with these temporary plates that dealers "print" (on heavy card-stock). It's even easier to snatch a car and take it across the border, never to be seen again. I don't know too many people that haven't had a vehicle stolen or at least broken into.
A bit of history:
It was built and sold in the summer of 2002. It was one of the few torch-red to come out in 2003 that was not a 10th Anniversary. A few months after Ford released the Terminator, they decided to reserve Torch Red for 10th Anniversary editions only. This is car number 108 of all the terminators ever built.
When I bought this car in 2006, it had one owner. The owner rarely drove it. I bought the car in June of 2006 and it had only 16,000 miles on it! The work he did on it was top-notch and had paid A LOT of attention to detail. The only thing "cheap" on the car was the upper pulley (moto-blue?)
If something needs repair, I get it done right away. Anyone that knows me or has seen the car in person knows that for a daily driver, I keep this thing in really good shape. I drive it EVERY DAY. This isn't a garage queen. The whole point of the rant is that I try and continue to keep it up as much as I can, you know....in the spirit of the original owner and of course the legacy of the car. I guess it's just really hard to take when some greedy phuck comes around and tries to gank your shit because they want it.
Oh well, I got off lucky compared to some of the shit I've read/seen on here, but as anyone who's had anything like this happen to them knows, it still hurts - even if it was just a little minor thing. I see a locksmith, mechanic and a body person getting involved to repair all the damage. Didn't even put pics of scratches...
