Hi,

So, 72k miles and leaking.

Should I:

1. Buy new ford radiator? 550 bucks? plus install.

2. Buy LFP off ebay 420 delivered? much improve vs stock?

3. Repair mine, if minor issue/possible.

I thought for sure there would be an oem replacement for 200 bucks, no?
I NEVER had any cooling issues, needle is in middle of gauge for 9 years with my pully and stock radiator.

thanks for info. and any links with options.

OEM or repair only. I'd just bite the bullet and get another OEM. Too many "fixed" radiators don't stay that way for very long.

According to Tousley Ford Parts website:

03 Cobra radiator is 416.60.

Give Steve or Mike R. a call @ 1800-328-9552.

They are great parts guys and they know their cars. If you need anything OEM or FRPP you give them a call.

That's pretty crazy how much the OEM radiator has gone up in price. I remember just a few short years ago you could get it for like $325 shipped from BuyFordRacing.com.

Btw, OP you really should consider doing the install yourself. You can get it done under an hr. Burping procedure will take longer though.

Yep. I'd say I am narrowed between 2 options:

lfp 420 delivered or calling tousley for oem 420 (plus shipping maybe?)

OR

The mishimoto 229 delivered and people seem to like it.

Will decide tonight.

Regarding doing it myself. Yeah, I should, but I do not have the time or place to do it. Got a quote for 150 labor, not too bad, especially if it needs a burping?

Thanks for info. Any more is welcome. :)

the mishimoto is not a drop in fit
i just installed mine, but havent filled coolant up yet to see how well it works.

you will need to move the ABS module back just a bit.

do a search. you will see where peeps just slot the ABS bracket a bit

If you search hard enough you can find oem 03/04 Radiators in the $200 price range, their was a vendor on Ebay that had about a dozen last year and sold em for 2 bills!

Resist the urge to "upgrade" your radiator. It won't bolt straight in like the stock one. Without additional mods, it won't cool like the stock one.

I have a mishimoto on mine and havnt had a single problem. Looks great too. It does drop right in but you need to trim some of the plastic off the fan shroud so it clears the abs block. Also mishimoto backs there radiators 100% if it ever leaks no questions asked they will ship you a brand new one. Good luck

Thanks for all your input and info.

I wound up getting it repaired (it was able to be done right and well). I heard good things about radiator repairs so I felt a little better bout doing it.

My mechanic had it sent out and done. It costs me 250.00 total and she runs great. I know it could have been cheaper to do myself, but again not convenient for me. Looking back, I may have told him to not do it and just spent and extra 125 or so and gotten the mishimoto.

Regardless, it's working and all done.

Thanks again
