I am having problems getting the steering shaft to slide onto the rack shaft. The key way is lined up correctly but it appears that the angle of the shafts are slightly different. It will only slide on about a quarter of the way. Has anyone ever had this problem? Only thing i have that could offset the geometry is poly rack bushings.

are you reinstalling a stock shaft or a MM solid shaft? I'm not quit sure what your problem is. Are you saying its too short or the angle its at wont allow it to connect?

The angle of the shaft on the rack and the stock steering shaft are slightly different. I have loosened the rack bolts but the poly bushing don't want to budge.

I never had a problem when I had poly bushings. Try taking the nut off one side to allow you to articulate the rack better. Leaving a nut on the other bolt will keep you from dropping the rack and damaging the lines.

Muscle and lots of wiggling. They suck to get on. Also put some lube on the rack shaft (white lithium grease, wheel bearing grease, anti-seize, ect)
