From all accounts I've seen, a "fixed" 99 and the 01 are the same performance wise.

They were suposed to be but they are not. In '01 there were some changes made that was an upgrade to the '99 "fix".

My car actually went a 13.26 @ 104.6 stock and that was with a 1.98 60ft.

I went the 13.0@107 with just intake, weld in XR-1's, and O/R x-pipe.

I have since swapped to a solid axle and 4.30 gears. So traction permitting I should run somewhere in the 12's huh?

A buddy of mine in Harahan, LA has an '03 Mach with about the same mods as you and ran a 12.73 @ 108 mph. I think you can do that if you hit a 1.80 60 ft or better.

That's because he has a 99 Cobra and not an 01. The Mach1 and the 01 Cobra are more matched than the inferior 99s.

I went to NPR friday. Since the solid axle and gears. I pulled a 1.788 60ft and ran a [email protected]!

That was on Nitto 555, secong gear still spins like crazy but I should be getting a set of DR's pretty soon.

i dont know where you guys have been but a 99 with the fix performs just as well as the 01.. ford didnt make the mistake twice.. 13.0s-13.4s are very possible in a fixed 99 seen it plenty times close to sea level in La (NO PROBS RACEWAY)

No it don't! I have already stated that. The upper and lower intakes are even better in the 01, not to mention improvements to the IRS! Don't get me wrong, the 99s are fast, but they still fall a tad short to the 01s.

the improvements to the IRS have nothing to do with how fast it is....

again, my 99 ran within a tenth in the 1/8 mile of my 01 both stock, with almost identical 60's

You did it once! It was never consistant and you know it! LOL

IRS aids in hook up. Less likley to wheel hop.

Info from SVT.
