Chances they're on national backorder. It might be a while. Just hope they haven't discontinued them altogether. You might check the bone yards. It is specific to the Shelby, so it might be hard to find.

Does anyone know where to source a replacement plastic top radiator shield for a 2010 (or 2011-2012? All my ford suppliers are out of stock, and I can't find them anywhere.

2010 Ford Mustang Upper Shield AR3Z-8C291-AB | Auto Nation Ford White Bear Lake

I copied and pasted the part number from your link above into eBay and found 3 new, plus scrolled down and found 1 used.....

AR3Z-8C291-AB | eBay

^^^^Scroll down even further and I believe there are more without the "dashes" in the part number.....

The decal will probably have to be ordered separately........that is a whole other ordeal.....

Ebay is a Great tool!

Yeah I thought of eBay shortly after I posted this, but I’ve looked in the past and didn’t have any. The first one was a dealer and out of stock. The second was a wholesaler without a phone so I messaged to confirm and haven’t heard back. I bought one anyway. Mine has to be an AB specifically since it’s a 2010, though I can’t imagine what’s different. Those were the only two on there I saw. Thanks for the help guys.

You're welcome.

That AB was a part revision, maybe the AA had an issue OR Ford incorporated it into a newer model which required some production changes and it became AB.

I’ve looked at a long list of sites and for whatever reason the 2010 GT500 requires the AB and I think the AA applies to the GT/v6 and possibly other years of GT500, maybe 11-14. I’m guessing AB is for the 2010 GT500 revision and after that they figured out how to make the AA fit later GT500 years to save costs with one part #.

Usually that AR3Z would indicate the GT500 and then the base number for that part and then the revision suffix letter(s)....

There may have been a AA in the beginning of production and it could have changed to AB within that model year and changed to AB. Does the 2011/12 share that same part number or is it 2010 specific?

(Takes deep breath...)

It depends on where you look. eBay ads say AR3Z-8C291-AA fits all 2010-2012 non-GT500’s. Autonation White Bear Lake (AWBL) says the same part fits 2010-2012 base/GT/Boss in the description, then just 2010 Base/GT in the fitment section.

For AR3Z-8C291-AB, eBay says it only fits the 2010 gt500, AWBL says it fits 2010-2012 Gt500’s in the description, but then only the 2010 GT500 in fitment.

Then there’s BR3Z-8C291-AA, which eBay and AWBL descriptions both say fits all 2010-2012 models + 2013-2014 “with super cooling,” whereas the same AWBL fitment section says it only fits 2011-2014 models, excluding 2010.

AB is the only part # that specifically fits the 2010 GT500 no matter where I look.

To be honest they all might fit, but the 2010 is such a red-headed stepchild that my money is on the unique part being the right one, with the others possibly/probably needing modification of some kind. Since dremeling plastic doesn’t always yield the best results and it’ll cost me $100+ to return ship this thing - if I can return it at all - I’m doing my best to source an AB.

If the eBay AB version I took a chance on ends up being out of stock, I’ll probably end up trying one of the other 2.

(...Exhales painfully)

I agree with buying/installing the part number that Ford says it is, no need to go down a rabbit hole on some eBay listings that may, or may not be correct.....and yes, they may all fit into place.......maybe?
