Stopped in to Tom Holzer Ford (Novi, Michigan) on Friday. They had a red vert GT500 with an extra sticker on it that marked it up $25,000!!!!
Sales came to me and told me not to worry about it, said he could order me one. I asked how much, "oh, about $20,000 over sticker". I told him those days are pretty much gone and that his bubble was about to burst.
He then swore up and down that Ford was only going to make 1,000 of these cars. I told him 15-25,000 over the next 2-3 years was a more accurate count.
I don't know if you guys know what the economy is like in the Motor City, but it is BAD! Past the crapped, straight into the sewer. Just look at the housing prices, or the amount of homes for sale.
These guys are just making it that much worse, Ford has a hot car that is sitting on the showroom floor because some dealer thinks someone is going to walk in with a briefcase full of cash. Maybe LA, but not in Michigan right now.
