Hey gang, this past winter in installed a Kenne Bell and a Lethal fuel return system. Everything turned out great and the car is a blast, however I’m getting a strong fuel smell now. Everything is tight and no leaks that i could see and no drips on the ground and filler neck gasket on tank is dry. It seems like the smell is from the rear of the car. Any ideas? This happen to anyone else? Thanks

A common failure is the fuel neck gasket where it enters the tank.

The other issue is your fuel line.

If you didn’t get the PTFE (Teflon lined) hose, you’ll have fuel smell no matter what.

You’ll really notice it as fumes in the garage.

Shoot missed the filler neck gasket comment.

Report back in fuel line you used.

Use a paper towel and wrap it around the fittings with system under pressure. If under tightened or defective they’ll leak at an assembly pin. Wasn’t enough to hit the ground but it stunk

I had a very similar problem when I installed a JLT Oil Seperator on our '19 Explorer Sport.

The engine bay stunk and smelled like a gas-soaked greasy rag.

Source: The "smell" of the crankcase gasses/liquids permeated through the rubber hose supplied by JLT with the kit.
After months of searching and finally contacting JLT, they sent replacement hoses.

Hope this helps.

During tuning, I believe my evap was disabled.

That or it was residual smell.

I was kindof freaking out for the first week or so doing remote tuning because I had a strong fuel smell.

Finished tuning and gone.

Been several yrs now.
