1895/1915 obr. Winchester Russian Contract cheap to shoot since it is chambered in 7.62X54R. The 1895 was able to handle full power rifle rounds due to the positive rear lock up it had. And the regular magazine so as to be able to use spitzer/pointed bullets.
Every time you post a photo of that thing; makes me want one even more.
Pick your poison.
I've been thinking about a .38/357 or 44spc./magnum lever gun for a while.
Things are just too crazy right now. Maybe after November.
i dont think i have a ruger ....and i have a **** load of guns lolol. Maybe it's time.
Looks like the Marlin workers are out of luck.

Sturm, Ruger & Company (NYSE:RGR) closes acquisition of Marlin Firearms on Monday, November 23.
The purchase price of ~$28.3M was paid with available cash on hand.
CEO Christopher J. Killoy mentions: “Since we announced the agreement to purchase Marlin in September, we have heard from countless members of the firearms community - consumers, retailers, distributors, writers, and collectors - who are delighted that legendary Marlin rifles are now part of the Ruger product family. We are excited to start moving these assets to our Ruger facilities and setting up the manufacturing cells that will produce Marlin rifles for years to come. We look forward to re-introducing Marlin rifles in the latter half of 2021.”
Really sucks for them. Its good for the market though. Those rifles will be selling like hotcakes
Jeff, do you know much about the Ruger GP100? I'm thinking about buying one. 4" barrel, .357. Here's the one I'm looking at. I saw your post and then watched the video under the photo.great quality guns. The Super Redhawk is a monster, the GP100 is a tack driver, the mark series pistols are the standard for .22lr pistols, the 10-22 is a legend.

I looked at the 6" but the reviews said for home defense the 4" is recommended. 6" for hunting, although the velocity is higher with the 6". Hmmm.I have a 6" barrel version. Great gun.
I would assume the 6" which is slightly heavier might feel better controlled? It definitely is built solid. Much more so than my two 9mms.We used to own one and I know a couple guys who owned them and they were overbuilt powerhouses. We had the 6” one like Sid. Solid shooter that ate everything we fed it.

I also see that .357 ammo is over twice as much per round as 9mm. Right now, though, neither is available.
I had 336s from the early 90s that killed 2 bucks for me and was a tack driver. Regret getting rid of it.
sold mine to my cousin back then. only gun sale i regret. that thing was slick as hell.

Yeah ours was used for hogs. It’s crazy out there what shells are going for right now. The SP101 comes in 9mm and 327 magnum. Ive never shot one, but the reviews were great
The 6" is a tank. I think a 4" would be much easier to wield if you don't need the inherent advantages of the 50% longer barrel.
The GP100 in 327 is a 7-shot gun. Makes it a bit more interesting. You can get it in a 10MM too. If they had a .22Mag version I'd probably buy it.
Marlin was my first gun. A .22 rifle I bought at Service Merchandise when I was 18 years old. Most reliable thing ive ever owned still got her.....
