The 2010-2012 Super Cobra Jet Mustang utilizes a 140mm MAF housing to support over 1000 RWHP on the Stock GT500 MAF sensor. We have performed extensive testing on numerous Super Cobra Jet Mustangs and a small hand full of GT500's with this MAF combination. There are a few alternatives out there that work well and are even bigger than 140mm. However we still get a lot of calls and interest about the Ford Racing 140mm housing because of the brand and appearance it has underneath the hood. The 140mm MAF is available through Team JDM and many other Ford Racing parts vendors. However the inlet tube to connect it to your throttle body is no longer available. Ford Racing discontinued it, but we contacted the good people at Watson Engineering and they said they would re-introduce it and have it sold exclusively through JDM is we ordered enough units. Here is where you become involved! I have a customer who is very interested and ready to order one. I wanted to know if there is anyone else who would be interested and would like to purchase one as well.

These were designed for the Cobra Jet which does not run the PCV system, we have added a fitting to the tubes before that allow you to connect the stock PCV line. So we can offer the tube in both forms for Street or Race applications. Below is a picture of this air inlet tube installed on a 2008 GT500 with a 4.0L Whipple Supercharger. Please comment below with your thoughts, opinions, and questions! Cost will be based upon how many are made and the option of having the PCV connection.

Thank you,

JimIII@JDM

x3 with PCV option
Already have a 155mm JLT, but I like the factory SCJ piece to try.

I would be curious as to the drivability with this piece as well.

The driveability is often going to be determined by the tuner but with a good tuner like Us, Lund, or other well known factilitys can easily write a file for this. The thing thats really nice about this tube and good for driveability features is how smooth the air flow becomes as it flows past the mass air sensor.

We just got pricing on the inlet tubes alone and they are going to be $399, Ford Racing retailed these for $469.95 when they were selling them so I think its a really fair price! The PCV fitting is going to cost extra, still working on that not but Ill have some answers shortly. This does not include the 140mm MAF tube, they are limited quantity through Ford Racing at the moment so I'm working on getting those as well. Ill have some more answers hopefully tomorrow and I can get this ball rolling!

Yeah, no offense Jim, but I think its a tough sell at this price for the total package.
I still may pick one up down the road, but for now I'll stick with my JLT CF 155mm.
Good to have options and I understand this is the only way to have the SCJ kit, just giving some honest feedback for you.

I hear you and the price is why it wasn't a huge seller in the first place. But the quality is bar none and it works! Still looking at making these, I know what ever is made will be sold!

Thanks guys,

JimIII

Add this to the invoice you sent ( 11/11/2013 ) & 140mm MAF housing.
Will be contacting SVT & Whipple about the air box mod we spoke about.

I understand, I'm leaning towards picking this and the 140mm meter up just because I think they will become obsolete in the future, and cool SCJ parts to have for future projects.

Okay as of right now we are looking at the following pricing on the inlet tube and other components.

JDM 140mm inlet tube with boots & clamps $379.00
Cobra Jet 140mm MAF housing ON SALE!!! $499.00 (Usually $599)
Ford Racing M-9601-D Air filter $75.00

The inlet tube at this moment is priced with out the PCV fitting, we are expecting the cost of the fitting to be fairly cheap but you can order as is right now. There is going to be limited quantity so if your interested act fast!

Any questions please contact me at 732-780-0770

Thanks,

JimIII
