Okay, I have a 03 Cobra as my daily driver and a Subaru SVX for my winter car. But with 230K miles on my SVX, it might not be long for this world. So I was thinking what should I replace it with, and of course, AWD is a must. What are the best AWD cars, Rally cars of course. What are some of the best rally cars, WRX, Evo, and the Focus. I was thinking of picking up a Euro edition svt focus and converting it to AWD. Is there a complete rally conversion kit to do this?

I know people have thought about using a Jag awd setup with an mtx75 tranny out of a regular focus or the jag.. but I have yet to see anyone complete it...

So essentially, there is no simple kit to convert a focus into AWD. Total bummer. It would be so cool to make a SVT AWD Focus.

There seems to be quite a few Focus AWD conversions across the pond. I have yet to see anyone do it in the states. The best drivetrain to swap in is the Cosworth YBT engine and AWD drivetrain. However this also requires removing the stock Focus floorboard and replacing it with either an Escort Cosworth or Sierra Cosworth flooarboard.

BTW, for the cost of importing those parts and the amount of time/labor it would take to complete it would just make more sense to buy and STI or EVO...

Here is one of the best examples I've seen.

If you wanted a full rally spec AWD system, you could call up M-Sport over in the UK who builds all the WRC Focuses. Expect to spend an exorbitant amount of money, times 2 for the exchange rate.

You could also buy a complete used Mk1 WRC Focus from them for around $500k. New probably around $750k.

I would love to own this car. That looks amazing, and it would be unlike anything else out there in the states.
