T-56 or TR-6060, thought I knew, now just confused ??

2011 Shelby GT500 has what 6 speed trans, simple question I thought.

..................Who says it's a T-56:
Ford customer service, 1 800 392-3673, based on the last 6 #'s of my VIN.
.
SVT, 1 800 367-3788, based on the last 8 #'s of my VIN. Spoke to this guy for 15 minutes, he says a T-56 is the trans in all GT500's 2011 thru 2014.

Local Ford dealer parts dept., 888 699-1584, based on the last 8 #'s of my VIN. He gave me a part # ( AR3Z7003BC ) price - $ 4260. / $ 600 core charge, said it was a T-56.

Tremec, e-mailed them yesterday, here is part of their answer
" The 2011 Shelby should have come with a TR-6060 (Tremec part #TUET10400). "

Helminc shop manual, TR-6060- section 308-03B-i thru 308-03B-86.....there is no T-56 section in these books..

So according to them the replacement part for my TR-6060 is a T-56.

Is a TR-6060 & T-56 the same thing ?

From what i understand from reading the internet, the tr6060 is production line version of a T56 Magnum with a redesigned tail shaft. Bruce at modern driveline is telling me that T56 Magnum swap into these cars does away with the remote mounted shifter that causes all the shift problems...

But i dunno how true this is...

A T56 Magnum is a TR 6060 with upgrades and a different tail housing. A T56 Magnum is not in fact, a T56.

Call your local Ford dealer,get the replacement part # for your trans, ask if it is a TR-6060 ??

You've been told the correct answer. Maybe learn a little about your car. What a waste.

My Ford Parts Catalog calls it a T56. This is a VIN breakdown from a '12 GT500.

I checked this web site and used my car info, no vin (2007 GT 500) and it spit out TR 6060:banana:

mine too for an '08

The magnum tranny is what I want to replace my stock tranny. It gets rid of the remote shifter. JPC sells the tranny swap kit.

I just looked at my build sheet on my 2012 and it refers to the transmission as 6 Spd Man Trans Naao T56. Seems like Ford uses the wrong part number consistently.
