Has anyone had any trouble with there T-56? I am having trouble with my 04 Mystic. Every time I take off in first gear around 1300 rpm and I can hear a grinding noise. Then in second gear around 1700 it gets really bad like something is coming loose in there. Any idea's?

Mine did that when it failed at about 8k miles.

It is an internal deep grinding, the car won't shift, and it acts like the synchros aren't doing their job. From what I understand, there is a retainer ring that comes off one of the synchro shafts and causes the failure.

Mine was replaced no questions asked under warranty.

The T-56 is generally noisy anyway. Some moreso than others. Mine in particular was one of the noisier, but there was nothing mechanically wrong with it. Definitely have your dealer check it out.
