Yesterday we retested our 2015 Mustang shop car on our dyno with the addition of Kooks Headers and Exhaust Full Exhaust kit for the 2015-2016 Mustang GT.

The fit and finish on this kit is second to none. We have done quite a few exhaust installs on 2015+ Mustangs and this is by far one of the best fitting kits we have worked with especially the cat-back section.

Results:

The Kooks headers and Green cats picked up about 13WHP at peak and a huge bump of 25+WTQ in the low end. This is pretty much what we had expected. Since our car was last tested with the Magnaflow Cat-Back we can assume that was worth about 10 WHP. In short, a full exhaust system is going to be worth on average 25-30WHP with big gains in torque at the hit of the throttle. This was all done on the same tune used during our GT350 manifold test. No changes.

do you think if you tune it the way it sits you can get a little more? Especially since it picked up so much on the bottom end in TQ I would think you could get more average HP maybe not to much more peak but in the curve.

That question popped into my mind as well. I imagine they used the same tune to get an idea of the increase from a direct swap instead of going to a new custom tune to give people a better idea of what to expect after an install.

I wouldn't mind seeing a dyno sheet with an updated tune though :burnout:

Yes, and we've been working on it! We have 3 2015-2016 Mustang GT's in the shop as we speak with the same upgrades, 1 Stick and 2 Auto cars. Jim Sr. has been out of town this past week so when he gets back this weekend he is going to finish them up. We should have plenty of more results next week!
