Looks sick man! For the headlights I would go much lower and try to stay around 5000K. Anything higher just gets too blue.

The 8000k 55w kits don't have too much coloration, but are still very bright. Ill probably end up going with those

Alrighty then. Good bit of progress today.

Got the quarter windows out and noticed a little rust in the window opening. Ground it out to look something like this..

When the kid hit the door, it cracked the bondo from a previous repair ( NOT repaired by me, my dad hit the drivers door with his Kingquad 700 a few years back and had a "shadetree" fix it.). I am grinding it all out and properly straightening the skin and working it from there.

Then came the passenger door, worked a few dents in it today as well..

This afternoon I sprayed the backs of my doors..

Then the glassman showed up and popped my back glass out so I could pull the cab corner back into shape.

Got some more progress done today. Not as much as I had hoped due to a customer car coming in, but still moving foward.

My new BFGs came in this morning and got them mounted up.
IMG_20110318_185817.jpg

Then I sanded down my door jambs and resprayed those this evening.

Are you going to do the enginebay and maybe some wire hiding?

Not sure if that was a serious question or not..

No. There is no hope on concealing any wiring/hoses on this truck.

Besides there is no reason the hood should be up unless its getting worked on. Nothing to see under there.

Man, good looking truck you are going to have when all is said and done. Sorry for your misfortune earlier, but you sound like you take things in stride. Really looking forward to seeing what it all looks like when you get it done.

I was just wondering if you are going to paint the engine bay too? Sorry I should have been more specific.

Thank you sir.

Oh my bad, not your fault. But no, I hadnt planned on painting under the hood anywhere. It does need it tho.

The spaghetti-like explosion of wires and hoses under there haunt my dreams.. :uh oh:

Here we go. Been slammed at work and havent been doing much. Im going to bust ass tomorrow on the bed and try to get it all fixed/primed.

I got the bed off early this week. Frame was still very clean since the last undercoat in August.

I painted the underside of my new hood as well.

Installed a new fuel pump for preventative maintenance reasons today. Figured now was as good of a time as any while the bed is off and I have easy access.

Thanks for viewing.

Today I got the bed primed but forgot to take pics. :nonono:

However I did take pics of a custom little mod I thought up a while back when i shaved the key lock from the fuel door. I always like the little push-in/push-out type doors and wanted to incorporate that on my truck. We just so happened to have a BMW 328 in the shop getting a quarter replacement. I lucked up and robbed the push button from it!

Here is the old quarter with the button. Showing what I originally cut.
IMG_20110331_091816.jpg

The button itself is removable from the quarter skin, it just snaps in. Fold the tabs on the back of the button and it pops right out. I then started fabbing up a mount to fix it inside my fuel door opening.

Trimmed up the section I cut from the Bimmer quarter and added some sides to it.
IMG_20110331_153753.jpg

Then fully enclosed it and added the mounting tab. Also metal finished.
IMG_20110402_114219.jpg

Button snapped in.
IMG_20110402_114257.jpg

Plug welded the button-mount from the back side, in the wheel well. And welded on the very outer edge as well.

Thanks for looking.
