I Interpreted it as the rise of "Skywalker" within Kylo Ren since he already is half Skywalker. It's pretty obvious he is on a redemption arc. I'm hoping with the return of The Emporer, we find out that Rey is descendant of Palpatine.

Maybe. But he can’t call himself a Skywalker (unless they pull some weird SJW shit). Although interesting (Rey being a descendant of Palpatine) I hope they don’t go in that direction.
