I bought some AFS wheels thru them about 5 mos ago...& one of the wheels
has the chrome flaking off of the around the center cap. I have not
damaged the wheel or anything & asked for a replacement...here was
their reply:

" I'm sorry, unfortunately all items are sold as is as stated in every auction."

so be cautious & do not expect any customer service from this place or
any other shop on ebay unless there is a warranty listed.

I just wanted to let you all know how good of an experience I had with
"Cleanin Out The Garage" on ebay. :rollseyes :fm:

Ya you have to be careful. I will buy little odds and ends from Ebay, but I will never spend more than a couple hundred bucks on anything from that site, unless they are local or I know the seller. High dollar items on Ebay just scare me. Sometimes deals are too good to be true, and usually they are just that.

I bought my Bike on E-bay (7G's)

I flew down to FL. and checked out the bike before I handed over the check ;-)

You have to read the auction carefully.. and research the seller

You want a deal. So we over look customer service. It all costs money. Margins so low u can't afford to service the customer.

I have bought a couple of cars (including my 01 Cobra) and a few other fairly expensive items from eBay. Like Doug says...research is the key. But if it looks too good to be true, it probably is and I run like hell.

I agree with all the you all said...that is why I posted this...to get
it back in people's minds.

BTW wheels were not damaged when new...I guess the plating quality
on these just sucks.

How about contacting AFS directly?
Since they were new when purchased, maybe they will warranty it for you?

When buying on eBay...........

* Read the ad description very carefully
* Email any questions to the seller before bidding/buying
* Check the feedback rating of the seller and read any negative feedback
* If you don't have a good feeling about dealing with the seller, walk away
* The old saying goes "you get what you pay for" (and it is usually true)

And you rarely get good customer service on eBay like CPU77 said. Unless you're dealing with me (racerrob). LOL!

cleaning out the garage sells AFS seconds. You get what you pay for. I have bought from him more than once, and Id buy from him again.

He is a stand up guy and labels his auctions correctly. Dont blame him, all he sells is AFS products.
