They have the right not be ****ing tortured, your household pet is an animal... do you torture it? I would hope not.
- Oh and this country is so far ****ed its about time they start worrying about shit like this. Work from the bottom up, throw the homo in jail that was kicking the cows heads in... the guy is dishonest at his job as much as our politicians and big company owners just on a different scale. But in the end... most people suck and I for one second would not hesitate to put these torturing pricks through a meat grinder, or slit their throat.... no problem.
So you value animal life more than humans? Wouldn't educating them on how to properly treat animals be better?
It's thinking like yours that keeps these people like they are. "Lets just beat them up or torture them" Violence begets violence. Since there are people abusing them, they will take it out on the animals. Is it right? no. But it happens.

You don't have to be a "hippie" or a PETA member to have morality. Just put yourself in the animal's position. They feel pain and suffering just like us. Just because we are the more intelligent species doesn't mean we get to be inhumane douches.
so wait a minute...the way my grandfather taught me is not the nice way to do it? Drag a chicken by its feet over to the hanging area, cut his head off and let everything drain out is not "humaine"? How about dragging a lamb to the hanging area, stringing it up alive by its hind legs then slitting its throat?
This was the way he did it back in Europe in 1915 and before...this is what his grandfather taught him!
Damn this made me think about the lamb he would cook, god it was soo good. call me a murderer but nothing is better than having a lamb cooked for 7 hours over an open spit after freshly being slaughtered and cleaned just a day before....now where is my damn spit and meat clevear Mary's little lamb is going down!!!

I love the tough guy attitudes in some of the posts.
It's not the killing them that bothers me. I love meat and will always eat it and killing is part of the process. It's simple tho. The hillbilly asshats that torture them and make it "worse" for the animals than it otherwise would be are pathetic. No need for it. Just do the job the way you know it could be done.
It probably takes more effort and energy to do it that way than just following a standard procedure that is more humane (but that wouldn't be as fun i guess). :shrug:

I agree with this 110% No need for the brutality that is in this video (i haven't seen it but based on the comments in this thread I have an idea of what it is about). I won't even watch the damn thing because I don't to have any of those images in my head.
I don't take anything PETA says as worth a damn. They have long been known to manufacture evidence, put things in the worst possible light, edit the truth out of a film etc. they are scum. back in the 70s they actually put a plant in a medical lab, staged some photos and published a "sensational expose" that they later admited was a hoax.

Well that was the most depressing thing I have seen in gawd knows how long. I enjoy meat, chicken, and pork as much as the next guy but some of that stuff is just wrong. Yes the conditions suck but the worst part is the people that get pure enjoyment out of torturing these poor animals. Psychologically aren't people that torture small animals the most likely to be serial killers? I guess there is one way to put this in a different perspective those of you with pets like myself go home rip your dogs or cats nuts off then slam him head first into the ground if that doesn't kill them then try breaking its neck and hell if that doesn't work just cut his throat that should get the job done.
